Negroni
The Negroni is a classic aperitif. Pour equal parts gin, Campari and vermouth over ice and you have a pleasantly bitter and balanced tipple to start an evening. Serves one.
Ingredients:
20ml gin
20ml Campari
20ml vermouth
ice
orange peel
Method:
Add ice to a glass. Pour over ingredients and garnish with orange peel.
Aperol Spritz
The Aperol Spritz is never flavour of the month in Italy, it's the flavour of every month. Serves one.
Ingredients:
40ml Aperol
60ml prosecco
soda water
sliced orange
ice
Method:
Place ice in a glass. Top with Aperol, prosecco and add a splash of soda. Garnish with a slice of orange.
Bellini
The Bellini was invented in Venice in 1948 and since then it has been a widely adored Italian treasure. Serves one.
Ingredients:
100ml prosecco
60ml peach puree
Method:
Pour puree into a glass. Slowly top with prosecco.
Americano
Originally named the "Milano Torino" the Americano has been around since the 1860s and is a delicious example of an Italian aperitif with its perfect balance of bitter and sweet. Serves one.
Ingredients:
30ml Campari
30ml sweet vermouth
soda water
orange peel
Method:
Stir vermouth and Campari with ice in a glass. Top with soda water. Garnish with a peel of orange.
Espresso Martini
Easy to make and just as easy to sip, the Espresso Martini is a beautiful end to a meal. The caffeine kick is balanced perfectly with the smoothness of Kahlua. Serves one.
Ingredients:
30ml Kahlua
30ml vodka
30ml cooled espresso coffee
coffee beans, for garnish
Method:
Place vodka, espresso and Kahlua in a cocktail shaker wth ice. Shake. Strain into a glass and top with coffee beans.
