Monteith's Ginger Storm

Ingredients

  • 120ml Monteith’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer
  • 30ml dark rum
  • 30ml lime juice
  • 30ml ginger syrup*
  • 2 dashes Angostura orange bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • crystallised ginger, to garnish
  • ice cubes
Spice up your sipping with this bold beer cocktail! Dark rum meets zesty lime and spicy ginger syrup, perfectly balanced with Monteith’s Ginger Beer. Topped with bitters and a crystallised ginger garnish, it’s a refreshing drink with a kick. Serves 1.
  1. Into an ice-filled glass, add dark rum, lime juice, ginger syrup, and bitters.
  2. Stir well, then add Monteith’s Ginger Beer.
  3. Gently mix to combine. Garnish with crystallised ginger on a cocktail pick.

*To make ginger syrup, add 250g white sugar, 250ml water, and 100 grams of fresh ginger (cut into matchsticks) into a small saucepan over low heat. Stir to combine. Remove from heat and allow flavours to infuse for an hour. Allow to cool, then strain into an air-tight jar, which can be stored in the fridge for 1 week.
