Ingredients

  • 50ml Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey
  • 10ml Frangelico liqueur
  • 15ml almond syrup
  • 2 dashes chocolate bitters
  • ice cubes
  • lemon, to garnish

Enjoy this simplified version of Andrea Marseglia's original Jupiter's Acorn cocktail, which was in the International Top 10 in the Jameson Black Barrel Bartender Series 2024

  1. Add Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey, Frangelico, almond syrup and chocolate bitters into an old fashioned glass.
  2. Add ice and slowly stir for 20 seconds (to allow the drink to become smooth and not too alcoholic when you drink it).
  3. Garnish with a lemon zest 'coin'. Enjoy!

Andrea, who is the co-owner of Teresa Bar in Napier, crafted a unique cocktail that reflected their local culture and community, using Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey as the base.

The competition-entry version of Jupiter’s Acorn stood out for its innovative use of fallen leaves from a local tree, but we asked Andrea to make version of the drink we could easily make at home using common ingredients.
